Cloudfest 2023 - Between Roller Coasters and Industry Experts

This year I had the honor of attending Cloudfest 2023 to forge valuable connections within the WordPress community and present my plugin WP Bug Detector. The event offered an excellent platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge about the latest developments in the areas of hosting and WordPress.

Cloudfest 2023 took place at the renowned Europa-Park in Rust, Germany, and set new standards in terms of organization and attendance. It was the largest Cloudfest to date, and the professionalism of the event was remarkable.

Innovation and networking at the Hackathon and WordPress Day

During the two-day hackathon, numerous innovative projects were presented. Particularly impressive was the "Eco-Mode" plugin, which provides advice on optimizing a website's bandwidth usage.

For the first time, a dedicated "WordPress Day" was held. This offered an excellent opportunity to make contact with other industry professionals and to hear inspiring talks from influential members of the WordPress community. A particular highlight was the talk by Jan Löffler, who pointed out that over 40% of the world's websites are built on WordPress.

Leisure and entertainment

In addition to the professional aspects, the event also offered a range of leisure opportunities. The entire Europa-Park was open to participants, which made for a unique experience. Musical highlights included performances by the "Lords of Uptime" and an impressive Queen cover band.

In closing, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the organizers, sponsors, and participants of Cloudfest 2023. Their efforts made this event a complete success, and I am already looking forward to the next edition.
