How often are updates carried out?
Updates are carried out as needed and when new versions of WordPress or plugins become available. As a rule, this happens at least once a month.
Are backups included in WordPress maintenance?
Yes, regular backups are an integral part of WordPress maintenance. They protect against data loss and allow for a quick restore.
What happens if my website gets hacked?
First we find the point through which the hack occurred and repair it. Then the damage is assessed and cleaned up. In most cases a backup and a development environment become necessary. For this reason we always set up a development environment of the website at the start of a support engagement.
How do you bill WordPress maintenance?
There is no flat fee and no fixed monthly price: you are billed only for the work actually carried out, based on the time spent. Response time, daily backups and uptime monitoring are included – costs only arise when work is actually done. The reason against a monthly package is simple: a website with five pages and two plugins causes a fraction of the effort of a shop connected to an inventory management system – a single price would be too high for one and too tight for the other. For small websites this is often cheaper than any flat-rate package and scales fairly when more comes up. The details are governed by a transparent service agreement. There is no minimum term, the contract can be cancelled monthly, and you receive one invoice per month.
Do you also maintain WooCommerce shops?
Yes, and there it is usually even more important than for a plain website. A shop processes payments, orders and customer data – a failed plugin update costs not just reputation but revenue. That is why for shops I always test updates on a staging copy with real test orders before they go live, and I keep an eye on payment and shipping integrations separately.
